Very RARE original UK first pressing of "Catapilla" by Catapilla on Vertigo Records (February 1971) Swirl 1st pressing labels.

THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE MATRIX NUMBERS
The matrix stamps in the dead wax read "6360029 1//Y 1 1-1-2 and "6360029 2//Y 1 1-1-2" respectively. Clearly, this copy is that most coveted of collectors items - an absolutely first UK pressing and EX!
This is a classic Prog album in stunning condition. It will be a long long time before this album turns up again in this condition. With this most unsettling of debut albums, Catapilla staked their claim as perhaps the most dramatic and certainly most visionary of all the British progressive bands saddled with the epithet "jazz-rock". "Catapilla" features intricate arrangements, the gyrations of vocalist extraordinaire Anna Meek and some mighty heavy riffing, courtesy of the Catapilla horn section.
Cover : Ex
Near-perfect unlaminated gatefold cover with no creasing, very little edge wear, pristine spine with clear text and a tight opening edge. When opened, the gatefold sleeve even retains its original "springiness". The only downside is there is a label with a previous owners name neatly typed on the inner gatefold top right, otherwise it is Excellent !

The labels are very clean, free from writing or any abrasion and with hardly any spindle lines.

The Audio is fantastic, near mint, clear and crisp with depth and great staging
Vinyl: EX!
Excellent vinyl. In absolutely excellent condition, this record can`t have been played more than once or twice! Apart from a single, extremely light spindle, this record looks nearly un-played. For want of a better word, this UK first pressing of "Catapilla" is simply stunning.
