Description

This is becoming a very rare LP.

It's on the UK Vertigo swirl label and is entitled 'Catapilla' by Catapilla.The year of release was 1971. The music features a mixture of prog, psych and jazz.

It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is 6360 029. This example is in fine condition with one or two minor blemishes.

OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve is a gatefold type and It shows some wear and ring wear. There is a sticker tear on the top right hand corner of the front cover which measures 25mm x 10mm. Otherwise the front and back covers are in fine condition. The edges show some wear and the spine also shows some wear. The wording along the spine is partially obscured. In view of this I've graded the sleeve as VG+.

INNER BAG - This is the usual Vertigo expanded swirl type with a polythene liner. It states at the bottom left hand corner of one side -'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE... ETC - British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 - MADE IN ENGLAND - B 1/0470'. It is slightly creased and I've graded it VG+.

RECORD - The record plays well through both sides. It's been well played but and there is surface noise throughout perhaps because of the quality of the recording but I guess it's been well played. Apart from this surface noise there is only one major mark on side two which shows itself as 10-12 clicks about one third of the way into the track which takes up the whole of side two.There are absolutely no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.

LABELS - The labels are the standard Vertigo swirl type - side one - large swirl logo - side two - small swirl logo with track details and credits (An Excellency Production). Beneath the catalogue number on the left side of the label is a smaller number (6360 029 2). The labels are in fine condition with a few spindle marks visible. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - 6360029 1Y//1V420 11 5 stampers - 04) - side two - 6360029 2Y//1V420 111 2 (stampers - 04). I've graded the record as VG++.

I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. This record hardly ever turns up in such a fine condition.
