Description
This is a nice old copy of Catch a Fire by Bob Marley and the Wailers. It is in its original zippo cover the rivet in tact and functioning fine. There are some light surface scratches from being put in and out of the cover. There is one that is slightly more noticeable but doesn't notice when playing. There is a a dot that ticks twice on intro to second side-could be gunge. It has the Island label with pink rim. It has a black sleeve but whether this is original I couldn't say and I'd like to be able to say that this has come from a smoke free environment etc but I'm glad to say this has seen some really excellent parties so.... I have been looking around through my collection and have come up with some other covers that could have been it including an Island card cover that has images of various albums of the the time including the zippo covered Catch a fire. A plain black cover with plastic interior. You see at the time a cover was any in an interval so that to my knowledge it has been in a blue and white sleeve with plastic lining for a while..20 years more or less. I have to say that we managed to find a record player in the loft and wired it up to play the album and we think its all fine-we are not talking hi fi though. The cover is a little worn at the edges, it has a slight crease mark where it must have been bent slightly rather than completely. The markings on the inner ring are A SIDE - BML 2001 A 3U / ILPS 9241 A 3U and B SIDE BML 2001 B 4U / ILPS 9241 B 4U. Label 1973 Island records. Recorded at Dynamic Sound Studios, Harry J Studios and Randy's studios Kingston Jamaica. Really great album. Can't be 100% sure of playing condition with no hifi-sounds and looks good as far as we could tell. But consequently no reserve and low start. Happy to take advice on the sleeve thing.
