Description

Cedric 'IM' Brooks & the Divine Light: From Mento to Reggae to Third World Music (Doctor Bird).

Legendary release by Cedric Brooks & extended musical family, musically illustrating the birth and growth of reggae. There's plenty here to please fans of rocksteady and ska, while the highlight for roots ears is a beautiful version of Satta Massa Gana. The track Third World, an extended experimental workout, is a vision of the music's future and a truly incredible piece for the adventurous listener. Featured vocalists include Alton Ellis, The Abyssinians, Justin Hinds & the Dominoes and Bob Marley & the Wailers and others, alongside Tommy McCook & Don Drummond.  Overall, a landmark LP with historical weight, & not to mention some exceptional sleeve art.

Solid EX / EX condition.
