"Angrier, heavier, darker, and all-around a whole lot more sinister than the first album. It's hard to decide which of the two is more atmospheric, but PANDEMONIUM'S......'s drums are more noticeable and its riffs are more substantial. Additionally, more unique distortion and effects are used in this album, which does not take away from the evil mood , but it does add a new dimension to the vocals. Basically equal to s/t. Everything I said in my review there goes here, too. All of the pre-1990 Frost albums are my absolute shit and I love them." (review: rateyourmusic.com)
One of the most influential, yet generally very underrated, avant-garde metal albums, "Into Pandemonium" is really something else. First off, it starts out with a cover track and contains a Motown-funk-meets-metal tracks in "I Won't Dance". Secondly, there is the proto-industrial metal track "One In Their Pride" which makes use of electronic drum beats and samples. Thirdly, there's the classical peace with spoken French language lyrics "Tristesses De La Lune". Fourthly, there are Tom Fischer's moaning vocals on the melancholic "Mesmerized", "Sorrows of the Moon" (given its name, there must be some conceptual connection between this track and "Tristesses De La Lune"), and "Caress Into Oblivion (Jade Serpent II)" and the use of percussion in the sections ("Caress Into Oblivion" eventually morphs into a more straight metal tune ... with some spacey effects though). Fifthly, there's the use of timpani, violin and female operatic vocals on the dark and doomy "Rex Irae (Requiem)" which also features Tom Fischer's more mournful vocals. "Oriental Masquerade" is stylistically similar, making use of a dark classical ensemble. There are also the more all out metal tracks like "Inner Sanctum", "Babylon Fell (Jade Serpent)" and "In the Chapel, In the Moonlight", "The Inevitable Factor" (which does feature some spacey effects, though).
This album is not for everyone and anything but straightforward. It took me a loooong time to be able to appreciate it, because its dark avant-garde nature was something I simply wasn't prepared for back then. But once, it gets under one's skin, it becomes obvious that "Into the Pandemonium" is an early avant-garde metal masterpiece.(review from:metalmusicarchives.com)
Vinyl: NM. A sensational find worthy of an archive!!! Possibly totally unplayed vinyl. I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. There are NO jumps NO skips NO sticks. Best recorded version of this album. It beats the CD and remasters hand down. There are no hairlines at all even under a strong light source this vinyl is close to over the counter condition. This is a KEEPER copy that will serve as a very healthy investment for the future!! I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog metal collection.
Gatefold Sleeve: EX++/NM. Great condition sleeve without any noticeable wear. Please consult the accompanying pictures. Sharpest opening, all edges fully intact without any colour loss. Spine fully legible. Please do not hesitate to ask me for alternate views etc. and I will gladly provide these.
Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly! PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one! I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem! This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem. Thanks again!!
