Description
I am the seller - Ron Stein, the founder and first owner of Lakeshore Record Exchange in Rochester New York from 1980 through 1988, where we were one of the first stores in the U.S. to specialize in the new 1980s heavy metal. We did club shows and in-stores and sponsored the Metallic Overdrive radio show on Friday and Saturday nights. I recently ran across a small collection of 1980s metal LPs which I'll be listing over the next three or four days. Hello to all of my old Lakeshore friends!
This is an ORIGINAL 1988 METAL BLADE / ENIGMA RECORDS U.S. LP titled 'Morbid Tales' from Tom G. Warrior's pioneering doom / death / sludge metal band Celtic Frost. It is Metal Blade / Enigma Records U.S. catalog number 72016-1. The album cover is still surrounded by its original factory shrinkwrap with the original hype sticker still affixed to the shrinkwrap. The package also includes the originally included poster and merchandising inserts. A previous owner has replaced the original Restless / Enigma stock plastic inner sleeve with a nice audiophile quality Seveit Premium Master Archival Quality inner sleeve.

Released in the US by Enigma/Metal Blade Records as an LP including "Dethroned Emperor" and "Morbid Tales" as bonus tracks, and included a poster-size lyric sheet on heavier glossy stock and Prowling Death merchandising insert.

Condition of record is a high VG+ with just a light visible sleeve and surface marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play, this record plays loud and clear. Condition of cover is VG+ with the original factory shrinkwrap still surrounding the cover, and with a few slight wrinkles, a little contact wear, and some small tears in the shrinkwrap and a little bit of wear along the edges and on the corners. Hype sticker is in good shape. Siveit Premium Master inner sleeve is in good shape with no splits or tears, just a few slight wrinkles.
