CENTIPEDE - SEPTOBER ENERGY
1971 UK RCA NEON NE9
Rare original 1971 UK 2LP set. 3 sides EX+ to NM, & 1 VG++.
Side 1 record 1. Very clean, with a excellent original sheen. No bad marks, & looks barely played. The quiet Intro to this side has a little very light static crackle, not loud at all. The rest of the side plays & sounds excellent, barely any background noise at all.
Side 2 record 1. Again, very clean with a excellent original glossy sheen, & looks barely played, there are no noticeable or bad surface marks at all. And so plays and sounds really excellent throughout the entire side. I didn't hear any clicks or pops, & there Is barely even a hint of background crackle to be heard, even during the quieter passages.
Side 2 record 2. Looks the same as both sides of record 1. Nice & clean with a excellent clean glossy sheen. No marks to mention, & the entire side plays & sounds great, a couple of light tics during the Intro, but the rest of the side has barely a hint of background noise.
Side 1 record 2. This side looks close to the same condition as the other three sides, all apart from a few wispy light marks around two thirds of the way through, this Is during a very quiet passage, & these light wispy marks do cause some repeated light crackle & some light tics for around a minute, this Is pretty minor though If you ask me. The rest of the side plays & sounds excellent.
Matt gate-fold sleeve. I would say Is In very good condition. No splits or rips, but It has some light marking & light staining to the front & back, & also a couple of small scuffs on the back too. The Inside gate-fold Is very near excellent. The spine has a little scuffing too, but all text Is clear & easy to read. I think that all original RCA Neon albums came with plane black poly-lined Inner sleeves. This copy comes with plain white paper Inners, guess the black ones may have split & were replaced over time.
So, 3 sides that look, play, & sound really excellent throughout, & one that plays with just a little surface noise around two thirds the way through, nothing too bad at all. Still a really great copy of this Increasingly rare & hard to find uk prog-jazz 2 album RCA NEON set.
