RCA, U.S., 1974 U.S. issue of 1971 U.K. release, 2 lp gatefold promo copy with 2-part dj timing strip on front cover.

Dj timing strip on front cover, has 2" square coding sticker over the top part of djts, where someone wrote "CDNT" and then "T" below that ( this may have once been a radio station copy, though it looks like it was never played), faintest lines of ring wear front and back ( hardly noticeable), minor edge wear, mostly just at top edge near spine. Lps lustrous, near mint, like new, probably barely if ever played.
Produced by Robert Fripp, this supersession lp features a supergroup of no less than fifty members, who actually played some live gigs as a band at that time, in a lineup that reads like a who's-who of U.K. scene talent at the time. Featured are past and future SOFT MACHINE alumni like Robert Wyatt, Elton Dean, Roy Babbington, Karl Jenkins, and Mark Charig, plus former BLOSSOM TOES Brian Godding and Brian Belshaw, Mike Patto of PATTO/ BOXER; the list goes on. The sound in general is fairly brass -centric, and has massive similarities to the sound of THE KEITH TIPPETT GROUP's "Dedicated To You, But You Weren't Listening" (on the Vertigo label), as Tippett had much to do with playing on and arranging this lp...the grand finale to "Septober Energy" appears in rearranged form on "Dedicated...," among other elements,
Released in the U.K. on Neon in 1971, it came stateside in this 1974 offering, of which this is a very rare promo example, with records in very clean shape.
