CHAMPION JACK DUPREE
'and his BLUES BAND featuring MICKEY BAKER'
on the Original DECCA RECORDS SKL 4871 from 1967 in 'FFSS' Stereo
GREAT electric and piano BLUES records like this are now much sought-after, and these are well documented Mike Vernon recordings, ranking alongside Eddie Boyd's Decca album, and the Blue Horizon releases of course. VERY tough to find in THIS condition though - I'm happy to present a really TOP QUALITY copy, for the vinyl and the cover too!
The labels show evidence of maybe one or two playings only - a spindle mark on one side shows that it has been played before me.
It's excellent playing and well recorde. Mickey Bakey gives it a trademark heavy psych-blues edge on guitar - which is what we like to hear! Usually a British blues band was recruited to session with these legendary original US bluesmen, but with Baker around... Vernon and Dupree would have been pleased to have him take the honours!
It's a quality piece, and stands out among the BEST of the period!
The vinyl is NEAR MINT and with TOP shine and it sounds absolutely brilliant!
Lables are bright and clean, NM also.
The light card laminated cover is also NM
A TOP TOP copy - and really excellent musically!
