Description
This is an overall fine original U.S. pressing copy of the rare sole LP by one of the first Bay Area countercultural groups, the Charlatans, released in 1969. The group had formed five years before, and recorded an album's worth of material in 1966, though only a single was released at that time. Only one track from that period appears here (in a spacey, extended version), "Alabama Bound." Most of the newer tracks are original compositions. The cover versions include Van Dyke Park's "High Coin" (also released as a single), Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues," and "Wabash Cannonball," as well as the aforementioned "Alabama Bound." The jacket looks fine overall. Its major flaws are splitting in a few places in the top seam and a 4” split in the bottom seam. It also has a small cutout hole and some ring wear and scuffing -- VG(+). The disc has some light scraping and scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise -- EX(-).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
