Description

CHARLES MINGUS – JAZZICAL MOODS VOL. 1 – PERIOD 1107 – EX/EX – 10 INCH – MONO

Recorded in December of 1954, this original Period session features Charles Mingus on bass, accompanied by Thad Jones on trumpet, John LaPorta on clarinet and alto, Teo Macero on tenor and baritone, Jackson Wiley on cello and Clem DeRosa on drums. SIDE 1: WHAT IS THIS THING CALLED LOVE and STORMY WEATHER. SIDE 2: MINOR INTRUSIONS and ABSTRACTIONS. Although not acknowledged, There is an ‘EAR” on both sides of the blank vinyl and the initials “RVG” on Side A. This LP was probably recorded by Rudy Van Gelder when Prestige was in New York City. This is a MONO recording

I have graded both the vinyl and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. For one thing, you’ll never really find a real M- on any 10 inch LP, as time usually leaves something on it. The vinyl is clean, with a few marks on Side A, which do not interfere with play. There is some slight surface noise on Cut 2, which does not interfere with play. Side 2 appears to be clean of any marks,. There is some slight wear in and around the spindle hole. The vinyl still retains its original luster. The record jacket has two very small taped seams on the top and bottom on the right side. Other than that, there is no real sign of wear on the record jacket. There is a mark on the liner notes on the upper right side where there was once a sticker. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.

PAYMENT & SHIPPING

Satisfaction guaranteed on item. I regret that the USPS has raised their prices. The LP will be well packed. Fully packed in a crush proof box, it weighs 1.10 pounds. Due to increased cost, I have to charge an additional $1.00 for packing in the crush proof box. Believe me, it’s worth it! The method of payment is PayPal. As of October 20, 2008, eBay has decided to make PayPal the only method of payment for this item! This way, eBay has you coming and going! If you are a bidder who prefers to pay by other means, I suggest that you file a complaint! I regret the inconvenience. The LP will be shipped either by Media Rate @ $3.17 or by Priority Mail @ $5.95 and up depending where you reside. Overseas bidders should consider First Class Mail International. The cost to Europe and Asia begins at $22.30 in the crush proof box. It’s worth it! USPS has hammered overseas shipping!
