Description

Please read my description carefully before bidding.  I will ship the item worldwide and will accept a free return if it doesn't match the listing description.

This one is the first mono pressing of Atlantic Records 1237 "PITHECANTHROPUS ERECTUS" by CHARLES MINGUS.  With Jackie McLean on alto saxophone solo.  One of the best line up of Mingus' Jazz Workshop which leading to the free jazz movement.  This one is an original issue from Atlantic Records, not a reissue version by OJC or Classic Records.  High quality original pressing in 1956.  Black Labels with Deep Groove on both labels.  Very rare in NM (almost Mint) condition (play graded).

Artists Include: Charles Mingus (bass), Jackie McLean (alto saxophone), J.R. Monterose (tenor saxophone), Mal Waldron (piano), Willie Jones (drums).

The vinyl played NM (almost Mint) on both sides. Music is nice.

The cover is NM-. No split, no crack, no bruise. Just has small sticker and small pen writing on the back cover (please see picture).

The record is play graded as well as visually. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws.

My grading is as follows: M (perfectly like new), NM, NM-/VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, G-.

You will be satisfied.  And I will accept a free return.  Please bid with confidence.
