He has worked and recorded with BARBRA STREISAND, Frank Sinatra, LOU CHRISTIE, Neil Diamond, Al Kooper, Bruce Springsteen, Laura Nyro, Liza Minnelli, Engelbert Humperdinck, the Cyrkle, Jimmy Clanton, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Bobby Vinton, Janis Ian, Barry Manilow, Juice Newton, Nancy Sinatra, the Highwaymen, Shirley Ellis, Deborah Allen, and many others. Calello was the conductor and responsible for the string arrangements on Springsteen's "JUNGLELAND" from the album "BORN TO RUN".
He is revered for his contributions to the Northern Soul phenomenom during his years as staff producer/arranger at COLUMBIA RECORDS !! He had many notable efforts during the disco era such as "NATIVE NEW YORKER" (ODYSSEY) as well as the popular club track, "SING, SING, SING" !!
