DREAM BABY / Mama (When My Dollies Have Babies) - (Imperial 66223)  Out of Los Angeles, this disc was issued in 1966 with the forgettable, 'Mama' as the intended A-side but it is the re-issue of the flip, 'Dream Baby' that makes this single desirable.  'Dream Baby' had been released 2 years prior as the A-side to Cher's debut single on the Imperial label under her full name of CHERILYN.  There were three different mixes of this tune.  The original 1964 mono single mix, which was a fantastically dense, Spectoresque 'Wall of Sound'.  The 1965 mono LP mix, which is at an ever so slightly slower pace with a few bricks removed from the overall 'Wall of Sound' effect.  And lastly, there was the 1965 stereo LP mix, which had the 'Wall of Sound' virtually mixed right out of the track.  When this 1966 disc was issued, West Coast pressings contained the powerful, 1964 mono single mix and East Coast pressings contained the slightly subdued, 1965 mono LP mix.  This version up for auction is a West Coast pressing which has the thundering, 1964 single mix.  The labels are free of marks with exception to an 'X' in orange ink on the 'Mama' side.  This styrene pressing is a super clean, VG++.
