Description
COUNTRY AND WESTERN CARAVAN 1954, RCA LPM 3220
CANADIAN ISSUE - Rare blue label as used for the limited Canadian RCA issues - See Pictures for "Made in Canada", etc.
TEN INCH LP - In 1954, 33 1/3 rpm long playing vinyl records were the new replacement for 78 rpm records. The first albums were ten inch, later they became 12 inch.
VG/VG+ is a very honest grading (we have been in business 32 years) - both disc and cover are in nice shape, with disc closer o VG+. Per photos, cover has light stain and wear and a one inch bottom seam slit. Vinyl indicates only light previous playing. Back cover has store stamp at bottom, "Promenade Music Centre".
Artists include: CHET ATKINS, HANK SNOW, MINNIE PEARL, HAL "LONESOME PINE" (Lenny Breau's dad), HAWKSHAW HAWKINS, THE DAVIS SISTERS, EDDIE HILL, CHARLENE HALL
In 1954, the Caravan travelled between April 26th and May 9ththroughout the southern and Midwestern United States playing Charlotte, Mobile, Oklahoma City or Tulsa. This is the original recording issue of their show, arriving in town in a sleek Greyhound bus straight from the Grand Ole Opry.
