Format: LP 180g

Rezension:

Die Zusammenarbeit mit Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen und Doug Raney war eine der glücklichsten in der Karriere des Trompeters. Ein legendäres Konzert gab das schlagzeuglose Trio am 4. Oktober 1979 im Montmartre-Club zu Kopenhagen, glücklicherweise in phantastischer Klangqualität mitgeschnitten und bei Steeple Chase in Form dreier audiophiler LPs nun wieder lieferbar: "Daybreak", "This Is Always" und eben "Someday My Prince Will Come". Die intime Version des Titelsongs hier zählt sicher zu den schönsten, die es gibt; doch auch die anderen drei Tracks (das eröffnende "Sad Walk", der Standard "I'm Old Fashioned" und der Brubeck-Klassiker "In Your Own Sweet Way") sind echte Höhepunkte des Kammer-Jazz! (1983/2018, Pressung aktuell)
