Description
- Chicago Transit Authority released their self-titled debut album "1" in April 1969 on Columbia Records. The double LP generated four hit singles "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?," "Beginnings," "I'm A Man," and "Questions 67 And 68." It garnered the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist... and a cease and desist order from the real CTA that resulted in changing their name to just Chicago.
- This copy (GP 8) is in very good condition. The gatefold cover is intact but does have some nicks and ring wear but I still grade it VG+. Please see the pictures. Both discs test play cleanly and are also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered at Customatrix and is from an early 1972 pressing at the Columbia Records plant in Pitman, NJ. The Side 1 dead wax is stamped o X??XSM139684-1L P C.

- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 48 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
