CHOCOLATE WATCH BAND
The Inner Mistique (April 1968)
If there’s any one album by the Chocolate Watchband that casual listeners know best, it’s this one. Rushed out in February of 1968, this catches the band in a transition of sorts from a Stones influenced psyche band, to something a bit more in the Pink Floyd’s arena. You’ll hear sitar flourishes and flute arabesques floating thru the arrangements like jeweled ornaments.
This the killer, classic Watchband sides "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" and "I Ain't No Miracle Worker," mixing punk bravado and angst, and also a curious version of the Dylan tune "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue."
This is an original US pressing on Tower – in MONO – and was picked up out of the KLIF / KNUS production library discards box back in 1975 by ME! It’s back stamped as a DJ promo and has a few songs checked off.
