Description

 CHOKING VICTIM
" Victim Comes Alive "

Limited edition 7" vinyl on HELLCAT RECORDS.  The Rancid / Operation Ivy label.

The cover is black & white with a fold on the bottom, covered with art/info/lyrics.

The vinyl is NM-.  Never owned or played.

Cover has light edgewear on the top, where it's been fingered every so often in a record case with lots of other 45s.  So it's never been owned, and it's always been in a plastic record bag, but the top has gotten a little wear as people have flipped by it.

This is our last copy.  We had a few (and this is over 10 years old now) that the band brought in, and we'd had them for years.  We thought that they were all sold months ago, but we recently uncovered a box that some numbskull filled with records that ended up not getting mailed, blah blah blah...
so we're going to be listing a few things we thought didn't exist.

Choking Victim was a crust punk and ska punk band (the band described itself as performing "crack rocksteady"), from New York City, in the 1990s.

The band became well-known at the C-Squat in the Lower East Side of Manhattan for their innovative music and politically charged lyrics. They also became infamous for their Satanic imagery and references to the vagrant lifestyle, such as crack-smoking, shoplifting, and squatting. The band prides itself on its atheism, making reference to Satan for the purpose of being offensive, rather than any actual worship of the deity. On the album No Gods, No Managers, they use excerpts from the lectures of political scientist Michael Parenti.

Choking Victim broke up after the first day of recording for their first full-length LP, No Gods, No Managers, but the recordings from that one day were enough to make a full album. After they broke up, (Stza and Ezra Crack) formed the band Leftöver Crack, and Skwert and Ezra formed INDK. Skwert is currently the front man for the NJ based ska punk band Public Serpents. Sascha has spent the last several years organically farming in upstate NY. Choking Victim and Leftöver Crack are anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic and anti-fascist.

On November 11th, 2000, Choking Victim reunited to play a show in Tompkins Square Park with the lineup from their album, substituting former bassist Alec for Shayne. Later, in late 2005, Choking Victim's reunited a second time, performing four shows. On June 11th, 2006, they played a show at the Lower East Side's Tompkins Square Park, which featured various political speakers, including members of the Mislead Youth Project. At the end of July 2006, they toured the Dominican Republic, before Leftöver Crack embarked on their European Tour.

In addition to Leftöver Crack and INDK, Choking Victim also spawned Morning Glory and the Crack Rock Steady 7.

My Mother Says:
I love "F*CKED REALITY" and "HATE YER STATE"!!!

See the photo(s).  Sorry about my hand in the shots, (if it is), but I try to NEVER LAY THE VINYL DOWN ON ANYTHING, unlike lots of sellers, who FREAKIN' lay records down on tables and things to photograph them!  We give them all the very clean hand or WHITE GLOVE TREATMENT, as you see in the photos, and take the pics with someone holding the vinyl in the air, never touching it, pulling it carefully from its sleeve.  Whatever we sell you is going to be in the best shape possible. We're all collectors and know that other collectors appreciate the extra mile.  I mean, there may be a smoker in the building, but he doesn't blow it into the records, and we handle them as if they might explode! (Although they won't, postal person, we promise)

If you get your goods and think it doesn't stand up to what we said in our auction, contact Johnny or Noel here, point your finger to this part of the auction, send us back your win, and we'll send you back your money.  It's that easy, sleazy.  Bid knowing you're safe in our nasty little hands.

And as I said before, we like to grade conservatively, so you end up being happy with what you get.  It's like a surprise!  And we start auctions low so you could end up winning a rare collectible for next to nothing.  Good luck!

Have a good time bidding. Maybe you can get it for a steal. Good luck. Hopefully you'll get it for a good price. If you have any questions, fire 'em at us!

If you buy up to two items, the postage stays the same. Over that, we tack on a dollar for each item.  Unless we're feeling rich on that particular day.

We will ship this ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

ORDERS OVERSEAS, ESPECIALLY TO EUROPE (AND ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY GERMANY) ARE SOMETIMES TAKING A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF TIME.  SOME VINYL IS TAKING UP TO A MONTH TO ARRIVE.  IF YOU CAN TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT AS A POSSIBILITY, GO AHEAD AND BID.  IF, ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU ARE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY AND ARE NOT PREPARED TO WAIT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, PLEASE DO NOT BID. And I don't mean that in an angry way, I mean it in a "we keep getting people in Germany and other countries overseas sending us angry letters 2 weeks after the auction ends, or starting a dispute over a record that is simply slow in reaching them because of the international overseas mail service.  So what I'm saying is this: if you're not feeling patient, please don't take it out on us if the record doesn't arrive quickly. We'll gladly take out insurance, or give you a tracking number, or whatever you want if you feel like paying extra to ensure that your record doesn't get lost. But if you just pay the basic postage and your record doesn't get there for 4 weeks, don't shoot the messenger.
