Description
This is an auction for a very rare LP, Chopin, Delibes, Les Sylphides, Peter Maag, Paris Conservatoire Orchestra.
This was released by Decca Records in 1958 and has catalogue number SXL2044. This is the 1st press with a Black label and Silver lettering. A deep circular groove runs around the label. 'Original Recording By The Decca Record Co. Ltd. London' is printed around the top half of the label. The Decca logo also printed in silver is in large letters. This also has the FFSS circular logo printed above the words 'Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound', which is printed on a 1cm silver band running full width across the label.
This label is known by the abbreviated term WBg ( Wide Band Grooved ), it is also sometimes referred to as 'EDI' ( English Decca 1st Label ) and indicates that this was pressed pre-1963.
Condition: The flipback sleeve has some buffing to the corners and some lamination peeling along the mouth edge. The rear has a few discolour marks, some of which will clean of the laminated surface. This has no tears, bends, Creases, Edges Ex, Flipback edges fine, the sleeve is complete and graded at VG+. Please check the pictures on supersize for further clarification on condition.
Included is the original Decca FFRR inner sleeve. ( Pictured Below On SS )
Labels: Side 1 is immaculate and as new, under the closest of examinations perhaps one tiny spider spindle trail can be seen. The centre hole is perfect and shows no sign of wear. ( Pictured Below On SS )
Side 2 label is immaculate and as new. Under very close examination one long spider spindle trail can be traced. Looks as though it's been played once or twice only and that the previous owner could not find the spindle when placing the record. The centre hole is perfect with no sign of wear. ( Pictured Below On SS )
Vinyl: Both sides are immaculate and brand new, they both retain that brand new rainbow shine. Under the strongest of lights I can't see any marks, scratches or blemishes whatsoever. This plays perfectly both sides, no pops, crackles, feckling or surface noise of any kind. You can not find this in any better condition. No doubt played only once or twice.
The vinyl for this is graded at MINT. You will not find this vinyl in any better condition, a stunning collectable.
