Description
THE FRESHIES / CHRIS SIEVEY - THE WHISPERING CAMPAIGNER - ISSUE #6, SPRING 1984 (UK) LONDON - PARIS - NEW YORK - TIMPERLEY-SPACE NUMBERED CIRCULATION #1900 Original and very rare 1984 memorabilia item by the great Manchester artist Chris Sievey and his band The Freshies - a pioneer of DIY punk movement and composer of some of the greatest powerpop songs of the late '70s and early '80s - later known by his Frank Sidebottom persona. This is the number #6 of a new promotional newsletter launched by Chris Sievey in 1982 titled 'The Whispering Campaigner' - it includes all the news by Chris Sievey and the Freshies, all the Razz releases, cassettes and videos that were available at the time Chris Sievey plus I think it is the period when Chris introduces Frank Sidebottom (see article 'number one fan - Frank' on page 2 of W.C. #1). This newsletter announces his single 'Let's Go ... Space City' which I don't think that it was ever released - also includes Razz mail order items and his latest news and trouble with the various labels. Together with the newsletter as usually he added some other flyers, one for the 'Denigration Now' video tape an one for his 'Camouflage' single plus a sticker from the Freshies 'Wrap Up The Rockets!" campaign. A really great memorabilia item from the DIY punk & new wave scene and the legendary band from Manchester, 100% genuine and in very nice condition. Size: double printed A4 folded to A5, 2 A5 flyers and a 'Wrap Up The Rockets!" sticker
