Only Theatre of Pain is the debut studio album by American deathrock/goth pioneers Christian Death. It was released in March 1982. The album is considered the harbinger of death/goth rock. Only Theatre of Pain was vocalist Rozz Williams' rebellion to his religious upbringing as well his own personal attack against organized religion.
Only Theatre of Pain has received praise from music critics, and is considered to be an enormously influential album. Record Collector Magazine wrote, "Only Theatre of Pain's influence should not be underestimated".
