Description

Double LP gatefold on 180 g vinyl, pressed in the U.S.
Original pressing from June 8, 1999, featuring trip‑hop, indie pop, electronic and experimental styles  Sleeve: Great, no seam splits, no ring wear, colors vibrant.  Vinyl: Excellent, clean surfaces, minimal signs of play, plays through silently with no skips or pops.
Personnel & Production  Core duo Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda, with contributions from Sean Lennon, Timo Ellis, Duma Love and guests like Marc Ribot, John Medeski, and a brass section arranged by Josh Roseman
Mastered by Bob Ludwig, lacquer cut at Gateway Mastering. NOT A REISSUE.
This sophomore album pushed Cibo Matto beyond food-themed novelty into bold, genre-blending territory. It mixes funky trip-hop with heavy rock, jazz, hip-hop, and bossa nova elements. A huge leap for singer Miho Hatori's singing and lyrics. Critically acclaimed as “eclectic, hot and funky” (AllMusic) and “pure pop LP of the year so far” (Melody Maker). Offers a nostalgic snapshot of late-90s New York’s creative underground. For fans of Beastie Boys, Sean Lennon, Luscious Jackson, Buffalo Daughter, Butter 08, Grand Royal Records
Includes full gatefold artwork, lyrics and photography by Pascale Willi
A great pressing with strong bass and crisp highs. If this copy exceeds your audio expectations, you're hearing it as intended.
