MUSICORAMA N.8 - HERB ALPERT - ITALIAN LIBRARY OST Lp by the CICCI SANTUCCI GROUP. Original Italian promo-only pressing on the RICORDI label (LR 8), from 1970. Super obscure and still practically unknown Library session. Youthful, carefree and elegant Brazilian jazz themes from the legendary Herb Alpert songbook, reinvented by crack RAI jazz session men, led by Cicci Santucci (of Looking Around / Mondo Operiao / Olimpiade fame) on trumpet. Our soundclip opens with an outstanding groovy version of PANAMA with oriental gongs / latin congas / bossa drum breaks a la early UFO - United Future Organization - Dimitri From Paris / infectious funky guitar hooks / hip jazzy horns / marimba and beautiful vibraphone solos. Lovely, atmospheric mood with stylish, stop - start rhythms. WARM is another groovy samba cum bossa with piano / mellow trombone overdubs and flashes of Marcus Valle Previsão Do Tempo style vocals midway. SLICK has a finger snappin' UK jazz sound with motifs that remind us of the cult BBC TV programme, Are You Being Served / swinging London / Tubby Hayes et al :) SHE TOUCHED ME and THE ROBIN finish our soundclip. Great for DJs. Mood music created for Italian film, radio and television. Very rare Library Lp!!! Full tracklisting: FRECKLES / MEMORIES OF MADRID / SO WHAT'S NEW? / PLUCKY / CANTINA BLUE / BRASILIA / WARM / SAND BOX / SPANISH FLEA / TIJUANA TAXI / SLICK / SHE TOUCHED ME / THE ROBIN / MONDAY MONDAY / A BEAUTIFUL FRIEND / PANAMA / MEXICAN SHUFFLE / MARJORINE. Please see our other current auctions for the beautiful, Marina Moran bossa single from 1963.
