Description

Cilla Black - "Cilla" - rare UK EMI (Parlophone) mono reel to reel tape 3&3/4 ips twin track in very good condition. With packing/warranty slip. This was her first album, released at the same time as the vinyl version in 1965.

Has been tested and played and the sound is particularly good with no edits, drop outs, fades etc. You will not be disappointed. Intact spool with titled white part 1 leader tape and titled red Part 2 trailing leader tape. One minor mark to lid which does not detract from its very good condition. Pink star rubber stamp tax code stamped on the base which indicated the item was returned to EMI by the retailer as unsold, and for credit of purchase tax. This is often mistaken for a blemish.

Reel to reel tapes were rare purchases in the 1960s, appealing to discerning audiophiles who wanted quality sound above that of the vinyl version. Some record shops stocked them - some didn't. One had to obtain by special order from those that did not. Hence they are few and far between compared to the many vinyls that were bought.

It is a pleasure to listen to, without the usual pops, crackles and hiss from the vinyl version.
