Description
Over the coming months I'll be selling off my whole collection of punk 7". I've been collecting since 1976 and have amassed 1000's of rare punk/new wave from 1976 - 1982. These will include early UK punk/diy, loads of foreign pic sleeve rareties, demo's/promo's, and autographed items. They will all be in top condition and have been stored upright in protective sleeves. Ultra rare promo only tour single from 1980. Made in the UK for BBC Radio 1 and 2 only - never available to the general public. Features The Clash live at New York Palladium 1979. Tracks are: London Calling and English civil War. This was given to me by a well known Radio 1 dj at the time who is related to my family by marriage. I won't name him as he still works for the BBC in some capacity, and they were supposed to have been destroyed after the Clash tour. He had 2 of these both signed by Mick Jones after a radio interview. Approx only 100 made and rumoured to be only a handfull left in existence. I noticed the guy who sold the massive Topper Headon linked collection the other week had one of these and it sold for almost £300. That gives you some idea how rare these are and this one is in better condition - Ex/Ex. The Top Clash rarity!

It seams the origins of this release is steeped in mystery. They were brought back from the U.S by a guy who worked at the BBC. It's not known if this was an official BBC release or not. Because of a lack of interest they were placed in a box and more or less forgotten about although I'm told it did get airplay on at least one occasion on 'Friday rock show' hosted by Tommy Vance.price rating
