One of the most sought after titles from the legendary Mercury "Living Presence" line because of it's incredible sonic qualities. Mercury revolutionized stereo with these groundbreaking recordings. Produced, musically supervised and 3- to 2- channel conversion for LP by Wilma Cozart Fine.
Highly collectable release from audiophile label, Classic Records. This title was mastered by Classic Records at Half Speed from the original source master tapes. An all-analog, tube amplification process was used at every step. Classic Records used a proprietary vinyl that guaranteed virtually no surface noise and sonically superior dynamics.
Classic Records pride themselves for releasing each album with the original artwork, LP labels and any other materials which were included with original pressings.
Record is new and still sealed in it's original plastic sleeve. Perforation is completely intact. Corners are sharp, colors vibrant and spine is straight. There are no flaws or blemishes. 100% mint.

Review: This is the finest record (The Classic Reissue!) to ever originate from Mercury and one of the greatest records of all time. It is a contender for the title (and award) of "finest orchestral LP" and its dynamic qualities are even comparable to The Rite of Spring/Mobile Fidelity.
I can't hold back my excitement with this record. It has been years since I have been so impressed and mesmerized. I can actually say that if the "original" Mercury's sounded like this Classic Firebird (they absolutely don't), those records may actually be worth the hundreds of dollars that audiophiles have (foolishly) spent on them. From my skeptical and frugal perspective, I can't be more complimentary than that. ~ Arthur Salvatore (Supreme LP Recordings)
Technical Notes: Watford Town Hall, on the outskirts of London was the site for this recording. The orchestra was arranged in normal concert placement on the stage. Three exceptionally sensitive omni-directional microphones were hung in a plane just outside the proscenium arch so as to catch the full bloom of orchestral sound along with the natural resonance of the auditorium. Each of these microphones conveyed one separate channel of sound to the three-channel recording machines housed in Mercury's famous mobile sound truck, which had been transported to England for this recording.
