The long-awaited vinyl versions from Claussell's 2012 collection The Unofficial Edits & Overdubs have arrived. Four of the many subtle twists and version excursions, each hits with Claussell's spiritual extension touch; Dori Caymmi's "Ogum Knows Better" is powered by infectious percussion, Rosie Gaines "In Spirit" while Radiohead's gamechanging "Everything In It's Right Place" gets a hazy, textured glow. Finally Maynard Ferguson's "Pagliacci" undergoes a dramatic staccato twist midway before dropping into one of the finest flute-firing finales Claussell's ever whipped up. Sublime.
