The Love Exchange were a Los Angeles band of the psychedelic era, right down to their name. Their chief claim to fame, such as it is, is their 1967 single "Swallow the Sun," a nice groovy-rock-psychedelic tune that's emblematic of the time with its trippily optimistic lyrics, garage-like West Coasty female-male harmonies, and swirling organ. The rest of the Lp features an assortment of garage psych & melodic SF SOUND styled efforts. "Swallow the Sun," incidentally, is a cover of song by the Peanut Butter Conspiracy, "Dark on You Now," with some different lyrics.
The Love Exchange grew out of some teenage surf and garage bands in the Los Angeles suburb of Westchester. It was teenage singer Bonnie Blunt who was the group's strongest asset, giving them the competent vocals in the soaring, folky early Jefferson Airplane style. The tracks are pretty cool garage-psych-folk-rock efforts with their utopian rose-colored lyrics and organ-modal-guitar combinations, like a mixing of sorts ala Peanut Butter Conspiracy & Jefferson Airplane ...

CONDITION: The Cover: solid all over, VG++ and clean, except for a minor what appears to be moisture mark barely at the very edge of front cover pocket. This can also be felt but not seen at very bottom right corner, otherwise just a touch of very little wear threatening to start Has no split seams, no writing ...collectible & hard to find 43 year old garageland/hippie relic.
The Vinyl: CLEAN..."EX" (excellent) to M- upper levels = all shiny smooth across both sides. Play graded clear with NO audio problems...certain keeper copy here. Both Tower labels = clean
