 *** ATTENTION!***

Please carefully read our entire listing to answer any questions you may have,  including discount shipping rates at end of listing; then contact us directly with any other information you may need.

WITH MUCH APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS:  If you have a question on orders received, please contact us.  We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied.   When leaving Feedback, please consider the following:  eBay's policy on the 5-star rating system is anything less than a 5  reduces our standing with eBay and ultimately can affect our selling abilities.   SO please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music!  We have served thousands of satisfied customers  - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.
We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records.   Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of  2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.

We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays.  Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday.   We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable.  We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order.  Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS:  We are happy to hold orders to save on shipping.  Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and, if you request, we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel.

As always, thank you for your support!

Bluesman Sam "Lightnin’" Hopkins was a direct link to the rural blues tradition and a key figure in the transition from country to city blues. He recorded for a host of labels and was one of the most prolific blues artists of the twentieth century -- achieving worldwide fame as a blues guitarist and singer. Hopkins possessed "a bruised whiskey voice" that had "a clipped but expressive sound.' Hopkins’s delivery was "a singular and affecting mix of private pain and public celebration. The performer rarely emoted on record, but when he did, it was "hair-raising." "More often he drew the listener in, confiding or stating a plain truth, etting his virtuosic guitar playing elaborate on the feeling.

As a blues guitarist, Hopkins was "powerful" and "idiosyncratic." His playing possessed "a dark rhythmic drive" that "in a solo setting, physically charged the rugged poetic beauty of his ‘po’ Lightnin’ laments and the gnarly poignancy of his singing. In a group setting, Hopkins produced some virile blues recordings, though some back-up musicians could not keep up with his improvisational approach. Here within, the highlighted overview of Lightnin' Blues -- his best album track for track:
