FEEDBACK NOTICE...
For all practical purposes we consider ourselves to have a 100% feedback rating - and hopefully so should you, despite the 9 negative feedbacks we disastrously just received.

We have had the unfortunate experience of a notorious mean spirited (etc.) buyer who purchased many of our weekly listings, when he suddenly became manipulative in handing out unwanted advice which moved into relentless harassment - including threats to issue negative feedback unless demands were met, as in to send him upgrades for records he purchased, exclaiming unreasonable nonexistent issues, as well as his amateur understanding of pressings and labels. In his weekly bidding participation - he keeps the seller paralyzed over his threats of negative feedback  "if something is not met in his demands."
We came to a point where this buyer became so abusive using personal attacks with foul language and insults, we declared, never again. He was blocked from our listings. He went berserk, writing and phoning stating 80 percent of our listings met his expectations -- untrue, in reality he complained about everything unless it was upgraded - at our expense -- then attempted to claw his way back to us to become unblocked. When we refused to give in, he followed in a tirade issuing us 9 negative feedbacks (the only negatives on our seller's profile) declaring on each negative potential damaging untrue statements about our merchandise and warning all buyers to stay away. We have a have a distinguished reputation with eBay Records for the past 20 years -he is the only ONE who has made such false claims. Some of the negatives given were absolutely for MINT records, others were SEALED and never opened! This is 100% obvious blatant retaliation for his being blocked, but it didn't end there.
Horrible e-mails have followed after he issued the negatives, ridiculing and gloating that he "got away with damaging our reputation on eBay", and that his goal is to continue to contact eBay and twist their arm in an attempt to get us banned from the site. He claimed he has contacts all over the U.S. and they would continue his dirty work for him. Sure enough, we have confirmed information that a friend of his bid on one of our records to be handed over to the blocked bidder. Because of that, we are anticipating more damaging negative remarks.  Now there is an ongoing conspiracy concocted by this buyer in effort to undermine us at all costs by using any measure - all because we had no choice but to exercise our seller's right to block him.
Some other sellers on eBay have contacted us stating the same issues occurred with them by this same bad buyer. Others have contacted asking for his IDs so they can avoid having to sell to this obvious problem buyer.  We were noted that he had 4 different alias ID's, with two of them being suspended.  Why he is allowed to keep his other two active is a total mystery. In the words of one of the bad buyer's victims "I hope you guys can get him removed off eBay."  We are in the process of working with upper management in eBay to rid this parasite from causing further discord in an effort to protect ourselves and the entire eBay community.
In the meantime, our plan is to continue our eBay ID and weekly music service listings designed for all the many great collectors who have supported our reputable hard work for the past 20 years on ebay.  We truly appreciate your continued support, and on our part will continue to serve you and not allow this unscrupulous individual interfere with our love of supplying the world with the glue that holds us together....music.

In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise, so please do not hesitate to contact us.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 18,000 plus positive feedback.   A KLAudio ultrasonic machine is used to thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.  Thank you for your interest and support.

*CLEAN* Original 1970 first pressing of the legendary first BLACK SABBATH, clean copies like this are getting really hard to find, 48 years later...

...includes the original printed inner sleeve

Released on Friday the 13th February 1970 by Vertigo Records, Black Sabbath reached number eight on the UK Album Chart. Following its US release in May 1970 by Warner Bros. Records, the album reached number 23 on the Billboard 200, where it remained for over a year, selling a million copies.

While the album was a commercial success, it was widely panned by critics. In a review for Rolling Stone magazine, rock critic Lester Bangs felt Sabbath was "just like Cream! But worse". Bangs dismissed Black Sabbath as a "a shuck—despite the murky songtitles and some inane lyrics that sound like Vanilla Fudge paying doggerel tribute to Aleister Crowley, the album has nothing to do with spiritualism, the occult, or anything much except stiff recitations of Cream cliches".

Musically and lyrically the album was considered quite "dark" for the time. The first song on the album is based almost entirely on a tritone interval played at slow tempo on the electric guitar. The song's lyrics concern a "figure in black" which is identified as Satan.

Similarly, the lyrics of the song "N.I.B." are written from the point of view of Lucifer. Contrary to popular belief, the name of that song is not an acronym for "Nativity In Black". Tony Iommi said in several interviews that it is merely a reference to drummer Bill Ward's pointed goatee at the time, which was shaped as a pen-nib.

Lyrics of two other songs on the album were written about supernatural-themed stories. "Behind The WAll Of Sleep" is a reference to the H. P. Lovecraft short story Beyond the Wall of Sleep, while "The Wizard" was inspired by the character of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings. The latter includes harmonica performed by vocalist Ozzy Osbourne.

Both the songs "Warning" and "Evil Woman" are covers of blues songs, with lyrics regarding relationships. The first was written and performed by Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation, and the second was written and performed by the band Crow. Black Sabbath's take on the originals is "heavier" and more jam-oriented. The guitar play in "Wicked World" on Side B is originally used in "The Soft Parade" by The Doors.

In August 1969 the band, who were then known as Earth, decided to change their name to Black Sabbath. Around the same time they recorded and distributed a demo version of their eponymous song. In December 1969 they recorded and released their debut single, "Evil Woman". In January 1970, the band recorded and mixed the remaining seven songs that would appear on their debut album. The songs were recorded "live" and the entire process took just three days.

Guitarist Tony Iommi recalls recording live: "We thought 'We have two days to do it and one of the days is mixing.' So we played live. Ozzy was singing at the same time, we just put him in a separate booth and off we went. We never had a second run of most of the stuff."

Side one

  1. "Black Sabbath" – 6:20
  2. "The Wizard" – 4:22
  3. "Wasp / Behind the Wall of Sleep / Bassically / N.I.B." – 9:44

 Side two
  1. "Wicked World" – 4:30
  2. "A Bit of Finger / Sleeping Village / Warning" – 14:32
  • The titles "Wasp", "Bassically" and "A Bit of Finger" are unique to the North American editions. They are not extra songs but rather a name for some part of a song, for example "Bassically" is simply the bass introduction of "N.I.B". "Wasp" is the title of the first 'suite' (Behind the Wall of Sleep / Bassically / N.I.B.), and "A Bit of Finger" is the name of the second 'suite' (Sleeping Village / Warning). The album features separate songs bridged together with these titles added.
  • The original North American releases of the album had "Wicked World" in place of "Evil Woman" due to conflicts over publishing rights.
  • The song "Warning" originally contained a guitar solo performed by Tony Iommi that lasted over 30 minutes. While the album was being produced, Rodger Bain cut the guitar solo down, feeling that it made the album too long, and would confuse listeners.
