CLIFFORD BROWN QUARTET – JAZZTIME PARIS – BLUE NOTE 5047 – 10” LP – EAR - VG++/VG+ - MONO
This session was recorded in Paris on October 15, 1953, featuring Clifford Brown on trumpet, Henri Renaud on piano, Pierre Michelot on bass and Benny Bennett on drums. SIDE 1: COME RAIN OR COME SHINE; I CAN DREAN, CAN’T I and BLUE AND BROWN: SIDE 2: THE SONG IS YOU; YOU’RE A LUCKY GUY and IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SPRING. The LP was remastered by Rudy Van Gelder, as there is an “EAR” on both sides in the blank vinyl. The address on the label is 161 Lexington Ave N.Y.C. This is a MONO recording.
I have rated the LP as VG++ and the record jacket as VG+, but both just miss the EX rating. There are a few very light marks on the vinyl, which do not interfere with play. There is actually little to no surface noise on the LP, as it plays cleanly. The light marks seen on the vinyl have no effect in its playing. There is little to no wear in or around the spindle hole. There are some age spots on the vinyl, which as no effect in play. The record jacket has an old taped seam on the bottom, which brought this from an EX to a VG+ rating. Other than that, there is very little sign of wear on the jacket, with some slight discoloration on the liner notes. The record jacket and the LP were shot at a much higher resolution to offer a better photo of the LP. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
