Description

HELLO and Welcome to my Auction!!

Up for bid are two original LP recordings of Clint West and the Fabulous Boogie Kings on JIN Records.  The albums were recorded in the early 1960’s, when the original Fabulous Boogie Kings were together between 1962 and 1965, later transitioning to the Fabulous Kings.  The Catalog numbers are LP-4003 and LP-4004.

The jackets are in excellent shape except for some top seam scrapes on both, and a half-inch split at the top seam opening on one.  They both have solid spines with no rubs and sharp corners.

The vinyl for both is in NM condition, showing no signs of wear.  The labels are clean with just one small spindle mark on each side.

Shipping is FREE via USPS Media Mail. I will combine shipping for multiple items won, so please check out my other auctions.

Payment via PayPal is expected within 3 days of auction’s end.

Thanks for bidding...GOOD LUCK!!!

West began his rock and roll career with Red Smiley and the Veltones, a group from Palmetto, La. Two years later, in 1960, he joined a Monroe, La. band named the Roller Coasters, with whom he played for another two years. In 1962 Clint West's own name gained a good deal of regional prominence when he formed his highly popular and now fondly remembered Boogie Kings. The ten-piece band made trips out west to Las Vegas and Hollywood, only to enhance his popularity back home in Louisiana.

The Boogie Kings and Clint West split in 1965, and the separation caused a court fight, with the "original" Boogie Kings attempting to hold the prestigious name, and Clint West and a new crop of Boogie Kings claiming the name as theirs. The original Boogie Kings won in the Ville Platte courtroom, but undaunted, Clint West called his new group the Fabulous Kings, a group he kept until 1968.
