Clutch's Sunrise On Slaughter Beach album is one of those records that is so well crafted and layered that each and every time to listen to it afresh you will find new things that you missed first (or seance, or third) time round. It is the band's 13th album but is in no way unlucky - the group still sounds like it always did but just with a few subtle tweaks and new experiments. The first tune is a whack over the face with fast-paced guitars that eventually make way for a more spaced-out mid-section. At just 34 minutes long in all this is a short but sweet offering from Clutch.
