Description
CMU (Contemporary Music Unit) OPEN SPACES. Rare record released in 1971 on Transatlantic Tra 237. This six piece play progressive, jazz tinged music and the record comes in a gatefold sleeve which is laminated on the outside. The sleeve is not the standard double card thickness, but only a single layer with the record kept in a plastic sleeve with foam at the opening. Copies of this record in mint condition are rare because many copies had the vinyl stained by the plastic sleeve. This has not happened with this copy and the record is kept in a paper sleeve. Side 1 of the vinyl is clean and unmarked. It plays really well apart from the odd click or pop which seems to be within the pressing. Side 2 is the same apart fron a couple of surface marks which cause a very faint crackle for a short period.
The sleeve has no tears but there is some creasing on the laminate particularly front top right, but this is not serious. The plastic inner sleeve is intact and not damaged but has become detached from the rest of the sleeve because the glue has dried out. This could easily be repaired.
A very nice copy of a rare progressive rock album.
