Already a cult force in the UK, by 1986 word the Cocteau Twins was also beginning to spread across the pond, with the Scots proving a popular draw on the US’s college radio circuit.


With Relativity Records agreeing a deal with their label, 4AD, the compilation album The Pink Opaque became the group’s first Stateside release - as well as the latter’s first CD pressing.


A terrific introduction to new followers, the collection brought together the best of the Twins’ distinguished early works, including classics such as Pearly-Dewdrops’ Drops and Aikea-Guinea.


Now receiving a much merited vinyl reissue, this long out-of-print release remains a perfect entry point to this classic ‘80s indie group.
