Lifers: every music scene needs them. Sam King, Julio Ramos and Fat Mike return as rock trio Codefendants, their next album mounting a damning attack on music capitalism and, at the same time, presenting a real defense of authenticity. As the lead track 'Lifers' goes, "there are days when waking up feels difficult as pulling teeth/there's always someone profiting off our disease...", and the ensuing tracklist steers down unapologetically eclectic roads; Mike describes it as "a little Bossa Nova, little Hardcore, little Simon and Garfunkel".
