COIL Love's Secret Domain UNRELEASED Vinyl TP Industrial WAX TRAX Psychic TV

Hello, and welcome to another auction item from Chicago’s Wax Trax! Records official archive.
We have been starting to pick through the Wax Trax! vault and found a few rare items that we would like to make available to collectors for the first time.

For those wondering about the influential store & label, Wax Trax! first opened it’s Chicago record shop in 1978 by founders Jim Nash & Dannie Flesher. The store focused primarily on experimental, unusual or hard to find collectables and quickly became the center of underground punk, new wave and industrial music culture throughout the Midwest.
Using the momentum of the the store’s success, Nash & Flesher branched out into the seminal record label in 1980. Early pivotal artists such as Front 242, Ministry, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Front Line Assembly, COIL, Laibach, KMFDM and so many other electronic pioneers had their beginnings with Jim & Dannie and Wax Trax! Records. The label's contribution to what has now become known as "Industrial Music" cannot be overstated.

What we have here is a very rare piece from 1991. This original COIL test pressing for "Love's Secret Domain" (WAX-7143) is the COIL album that never officially made it to it's designated vinyl release. Production for the vinyl release was scheduled and approved but the plug was pulled last minute due to formats changing rapidly toward CD. The only way for collectors to find this WAX TRAX! release on vinyl is on this extremely rare test pressing.

There were only a handful of these pressed and if you’re a collector, I think you know how difficult it is to find this original album in any condition. This one has never been played. Truly a wonderful and scarce piece of Wax Trax! and COIL history.

All proceeds from upcoming WAXTRAXCHICAGO auctions will be used to help fund the forthcoming Wax Trax! documentary. This film traces the arc of Wax Trax! Records throughout the 80‘s & 90‘s as well as the influence of Jim, Dannie and all the ground breaking artists that called Wax Trax! home.

If you are a fan or collector, please bookmark us as a seller, we hope to be offering more goodies as time goes on.
