COLIN BLUNSTONE "ONE YEAR" U.S. 1971 stereo LP (Epic) E-30974 M-/M
The Zombies broke up after the release of 1968s "Odyssey & Oracle" LP. Despite their posthumous hit "Time Of The Season", lead vocalist Colin Blunstone felt disillusioned & even went back to his original trade of insurance broker for awhile. He was soon lured back into the studio by producer Mike Hurst. He was persuaded to change his name to Neil MacArthur & recorded a few singles for Deram, most notably a heavily orchestrated version of "She's Not There"- the Zombies first hit from 1965. Eventually he got back together with fellow ex-Zombies Rod Argent & Chris White who were embarking on a production deal with CBS Records. He reverted back to his real name & recorded a classic debut album entitled "One Year" in 1971. The album contains several gems- Tim Hardin's "Misty Roses" & Denny Laine's "Say You Don't Mind" never sounded better. But Blunstone's "Caroline Goodbye" & the Argent/White composition "She Loves The Way They Love Her" are also strong contenders. All ten songs on the LP form a cohesive listening experience- tastefully produced with just the right amount of strings, not to mention beautifully sung in thst inimitable wispy yet forceful style of Colin Blunstone. A must!

Textured cover is intact & looks great w/no writing or tears. Background is unblemished white on the front w/only negligible darkening on the back plus very faint "crinkling" on the right corners. It is graded at near MINT. The stereo record has the original yellow Epic labels w/no visible spindle marks. It has rarely seen a turntable & is in MINT condition w/no scratches or scuffs. You will be hard pressed to find an original 1971 pressing in better condition!
