Description

Colosseum 'Valentyne Suite' on the Vertigo label (Philips on the label and the gatefold) catalogue number V0 1 847 900 VTY (stereo).

The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side A: 886775  1Y*1   420  1 1  1 7 Side B: 886775  2*Y*1  420  1 1  1 4

This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. Side A has quite a lot of wispy scratches and about six which are more easily seen but I can't feel any of them and this side plays really nicely from start to finish with just a little bit of crackle in the quiet sections. Side B is similar but it also has a scuff mark on track one which causes a short hissing sound every time it goes round for nearly all of that track (a lot of the time it can't be easily heard because the music is too loud, but it is there). All the other tracks on the B side sound great with just a little bit of crackle and minor surface sound. Overall it plays well all the way through, no sticks, no skips, no jumps.

The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels are in generally excellent condition, they have a few spindle lines but no writing and no damage.

The cover is a gatefold type, it doesn't have any coating or laminate. There are a few brown stains on the front on the top and on the back at the top, they can be seen in the photographs. Apart from the stains there is not very much wrong with this cover, just a little bit of rub wear on the surfaces, edges and corners. There is 'a Philips record product' credit on the inside under the track titles.

The spine is good and fully readable with just some rub wear on the edges.

The inner sleeve is the original with the big swirl pattern both sides, it came with the album. It has a polythene liner but it's loose. I have checked the Record Collector grading system and the cover is at least 'good' to 'very good' and the record is also 'good' to 'very good' although it would be much better than that if it did not have the scuff on the back of the B side.

I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.

It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
