American jazz great John Coltrane's Giant Steps is now 60 years strong and to mark the milestone it gets a special Anniversary edition that has been newly remastered. This version includes the original album plus eight alternate takes all recorded in 1959, just after working on Miles Davis's Kind of Blue. the sessions feature Coltrane's revolutionary 'Coltrane changes' and timeless tracks like 'Naima' and the title track. Accompanied by a stellar band including Paul Chambers, Tommy Flanagan and Art Taylor, the album balances technical brilliance with lyrical, deeply emotional improvisation and rich liner notes, rare photos and collectible packaging make this a tasty addition to the racks of any real jazz head.
