Description
HUM DONO Vinyl LP. COLUMBIA SCX 6354 ED1 ORIGINAL 1969 1st UK PRESSING MATRIX NOS - YAX 3882 1-U / YAX 3883 1-U
Joe Harriott and Amancio d'Silva Quartet's shining moment of true perfection, never to be repeated, includes guests Ian Carr and debutante Norma Winstone. Recorded at Lansdowne Studios, London, February & March 1969.
This is a fine example of this extremely rare 1stpressing LP. I would rate the condition of this LP as near mint apart from an inaudible scuff across side one which you can see in the sixth photograph. I have uploaded a You Tube video which can be found here: https://youtu.be/p8-GXARfFIU. This demonstrates that the scuff is inaudible. The video includes the end of track one (Stephano’s Dance) then the quiet gap between tracks followed by track two (Spring Low, Sweet Harriott) a further near silent gap and then a bit of the last track on side one (Ballad of Goa). Record tested on a Thorens TD160 deck SME 3009 S2 improved arm brand new Goldring E3 Cartridge through Kelly KT3 Transducers.
As you can see from the photographs the sleeve is in excellent condition.
Once upon a time…..
I’ve owned this album for 27 years prior to that a friend owned it from new his stuff was left to me when he popped his clogs. I recently decided to catalogue my record collection using Discogs starting with the Jazz and Classical records. all of which were part of my friend’s collection and I hadn’t got around to listening to any of it. My collection is mainly Blues and late 60’s early 70’s stuff. I have to say I like this album but as my wife as threatened to dump my vast record collection on my demise I’ve decided to sell it, hence the reason for the sale.
The last Ebay sale of the LP was sold for £1800 you can find it here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLUMBIA-SCX-6354-JOE-HARRIOTT-AMANCIO-DSILVA-HUM-DONO-ORIGINAL-UK-LP-TOP-NM/153576624886?hash=item23c1e152f6:g:8cIAAOSwyqhdNiue
The record will be professionally packed in a new inner sleeve and fibreboard packing. The record will be posted 1stClass signed for and insured for the full value of the sale.
