Conception is a compilation album issued in 1956 as PRLP 7013. The album features notable musicians such as Miles Davis, Lee Konitz, Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan and Zoot Sims. The cover was designed by  Ralph Steadman. The tracks had all been previously released by Prestige in discontinued formats, either on 10 inch LPs, or as 78rpm singles.

The album is on Esquire Records, 32-052. Matrix side one: RVG   PRLP-7013-A-2 (written). Matrix side two: RVG   PRLP-7013-B (written).
Released in 1956. UK pressing. Mono.

Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: excellent (has one or two small light marks and plays with the very odd light click here and there but certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, plays with no jumps or sticks).
Vinyl side 2: very good (has a few small marks and plays with a few light clicks mainly on track two but certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, plays with no jumps or sticks).
Cover (front laminated, flip-back): very good (light corner and edge wear, bit of wear and a couple of small tears at opening edge, a few bits of laminate lift, some marks and aging/discolouring mainly on back).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy on return of the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
