Concrete Blonde is the debut studio album by American rock band Concrete Blonde, released in 1986, by I.R.S. Records. Concrete Blonde is the band's first release under that name, following an EP from 3 years earlier under the name Dream 6. Labelmate Michael Stipe chose the new name for them as a constrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics. Compared to their later work, it has a more post-punk sound.

Three singles were released from the album, "Still in Hollywood", "Dance Along the Edge" and "True", each with a music video, but only the latter charted, reaching No. 42 on the US Mainstream Rock chart and No. 91 on the Australian ARIA charts. The album was not the commercial breakthrough the band was looking for, who declared bankruptcy, and took a hiatus. Critical reception, however, was relatively kind on release, and the album garnered the band a cult following.

SOUNDTRACK APPEARANCES:  "Still in Hollywood", "Your Haunted Head" and "Over Your Shoulder" were featured on The Hidden soundtrack. "Your Haunted Head" and "Over Your Shoulder" appeared also on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 soundtrack.

THIS COPY is a 1st Pinckneyville pressing from 1986 on the I.R.S. Records label (see Notes, below).

The vinyl has a couple of marks, but per a test listen, plays perfectly. The vinyl is in Very Good Plus [VG] condition.

The original cover has a gold PROMO stamp in the upper right corner on the back of the cover. Overall, it is in superb condition, but because there is a short (1 inch or so) split in the top seam, I am rating it as only Very Good Plus [VG+].

The original inner sleeve, with is translucent poly with merch advertising on one side, has some wrinkles, but overall is in Very Good Plus [VG+] or better condition.

The original insert/poster is in Near Mint [NM] or better condition.
