Description

Very good condition copy of very RARE 1st pressing of COVEN - WITCHCRAFT DETROYS MINDS AND REAPS SOULS. 1969 Mercury ?– SR 61239. Triple Gatefold first pressing. Play checked...the few minor marks on the record play well. NO SKIPS. SIDE ONE: 1 - Black Sabbath - 3:27; 2 - The White Witch Of Rose Hall - 3:04; 3 - Coven In Charing Cross - 4:01; 4 - For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge - 4:37; 5 - Pact With Lucifer - 3:28; 6 - Choke, Thirst, Die - 3:23. SIDE TWO: 1 - Wicked Woman - 2:58; 2 - Dignitaries Of Hell - 4:05; 3 - Portrait - 2:32; 4 - Satanic Mass - 13:17. This album was pulled because Mercury executives feared backlash when the record was included in an ESQUIRE article on Charles Manson. If they had listened to it first it may have not ever been released. This band is credited with creating the "sign of the horns" hand gesture (pinky and forefinger up) BANG YOUR HEADS!
