THIS IS ONE OF CREAM's RAREST LP's EVER, AND HARDLY EVER TURNS UP FOR SALE... TRY AND GET HOLD OF ANOTHER ONE!..NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN VERY GOOD+ CONDITION...(have a look at my photo's) THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK 1967 MONO 1st PRESSING ON THE 1st PRESS REACTION LABEL. 1st PRESS A1 / B1 MATRIXES,  AND 1st PRESS FULLY LAMINATED ERNEST J DAY PATENTS PENDING SLEEVE...THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE RECORD...this is the ORIGINAL REACTION UK 1st pressing from 1967 and is in VERY GOOD + condition!..The record is pressed on a slab of THICK black quality vinyl. The Cat no. is 593003 on the 1st press REACTION label...(have a look at my photo's) and is a UK MONO 1st Pressing..

Labels are the sensational Textured blue reaction format in excellent condition. With the reaction logo above the central holes on both labels to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity. Has some minor spindle lines but no damage of any kind. No graffiti , No rips No tears, and in very good++ condition.

Vinyl

Thickly pressed heavy weight  vinyl pressing with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic . Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees , There are NO surface marks, scratches or blemishes at all, a fair amount of very tiny faint wispy lines are visible. Remarkable visual and impossible to locate even in this in this condition.

Sleeve

First issue fully laminated Ernest J Day patents pending front laminated sleeve is showing only minor signs of wear at the corners and opening edge, with only minor creasing to the opening edge. The sleeve has No major rips, tears and absolutleyNo graffitti whatsoever,and is a pleasure to view.The sleeve is in very good++  condition and a Fantastic collectors item . The Spine is fairly worn and  just about legible . having said this it is still a fine example of this sensational reaction classic .

Disraeli Gears is the second album by British blues-rock group Cream. It was released in November 1967 and went on to reach #5 on the UK album chart. It was also their American breakthrough, becoming a massive seller there in 1968, reaching #4 on American charts. The album features the two singles "Strange Brew" and "Sunshine of Your Love". By this time, the group was veering quite heavily away from their blues roots to indulge in more psychedelic sounds.

The title of the album was taken from an inside joke. Eric Clapton had been thinking of buying a racing bicycle and was discussing it with Ginger Baker, when a roadie named Mick Turner commented, "its got them Disraeli Gears", meaning to say "derailleur gears", but instead alluding to 19th Century British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli. The band thought this was hilarious, and decided that it should be the title of their next album. Had it not been for Mick, the album would simply have been entitled Cream.

Clapton, Baker, and Jack Bruce all contributed songs with the help of lyricist Pete Brown and producer Felix Pappalardi. The track "Blue Condition" was unusual in that Baker, although not well known for his singing, took the lead vocal. The album was recorded in New York by their American label, the Atco division of Atlantic Records during the band's stay in the United States.

The psychedelic cover art was created by Australian artist Martin Sharp, who lived in the same building as Clapton at the time of the Chelsea artists colony The Pheasantry. At their first meeting in a London club, Clapton mentioned that he had some music that needed lyrics, so Sharp wrote out a poem he had composed on a napkin and gave it to Clapton, who recorded it as "Tales of Brave Ulysses".

When interviewed on the episode of the VH1 show, Classic Albums, which featured Disraeli Gears, Bruce stated that when writing the song "Take it Back", he had been inspired by the contemporary media images of American students burning their draft cards and wrote the song in that spirit of rejecting militarism.[1]

In 2004, the album was released as a 2-disc Deluxe edition including the complete album in both mono and stereo, demos, alternate takes and tracks taken from the band's live sessions on BBC radio. In 2003 the album was ranked number 112 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. VH1 also named it their 87th greatest album of all time the same year.

MINT (M): Unplayed, pristine condition, often still sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in almost brand new condition with no apparent surface marks, full original vinyl lustre, and no deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items are in near perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and/or packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record obviously has been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and/or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and/or scratches. The cover and/or contents may suffer from folding, scuffing, spine-splits, major discolouration, etc.
