Description
A great opportunity to buy a RARE VINYL LP from the 1960’s by Cream called "Disraeli Gears."
This is a U.K. pressing released in November 1967 on the Reaction label (593003)(mono). It has a total of 11 tracks (see photos for track listing).
This is a FIRST PRESSING MONO copy with label miscredits to "Windfall Music" and "Apple Publishing"; correctly showing 1967 on both of the labels; A1/B1 matrix numbers; Double Ridged centre hole; fully laminated sleeve with the "E.J.Day Patents Pending" credit.
The matrix numbers in the dead wax are: - 593003 A 1 (side one) and 593003 B 1 (side two).
The vinyl is in a clean and shiny VERY GOOD condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there are many light surface and scuff marks evident, along with some spindle marks on the label. I have played the whole of both sides and they play fine and sound great, with just the odd light click in places, most noticeable on the track "We're Going Wrong". Overall the sound quality is far better than I was expecting and it is a great example of late 60's mono recordings, having that wonderful depth which is sadly missing in later stereo pressings.
The labels are free from any writing or major defects, but when tilted towards the light, there appears to have been a sticker in place at some stage on side one.
The record is flat and has no warps of any description.
The record is housed within a poly-lined inner sleeve in a VERY GOOD condition considering its age.
The fully laminated picture cover is in an EXCELLENT condition. There is just a 10mm area of wear along the top edge, otherwise the edges and spine are very strong, and the writing on the spine is clearly readable (see photo). There is a small sticker on the front, which has merged in with the psychedelic background and I will leave this to the winning bidder to remove if they so wish.
It really is a wonderful example of this great artistic cover, which has remained well preserved over 48 years.
This is a highly collectable Psych / Progressive Rock LP and should be of interest to avid collectors.
