Iconic album by Cream. The sleeve embodies what the late 60's were all about!! Most of these will be found on the RSO label. The original Reaction ones are harder and harder to come by. Even here in England now very tough to find!!! Much more so for the MONO version!!! There are probably 3 or 4 stereo vinyls to each MONO. Saying that, even stereo versions are getting harder to get hold off these days!! This also has the back laminated!!! EXTREMELY RARE!!!!
Vinyl: EX+! Extremely hard to find this in MONO nowadays. But even FAAAARRRR harder in this beautiful glossy condition. Only a few tiny wispy hairlines only detectable under a strong light!! The replay is simply astounding!! A real credit to this heavy vinyl with high groove walls, PURE QUALITY!!!! Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, NO clicks!! It will be hard to better this. The winner will be very pleased!!!
I have played this in FULL> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! These tracks ...... you can hear them a thousand times but they will never ever bore you.There are not any jumps or skips. Listening to "Strange Brew" now. This is pure class. "Sunshine of your Love" is also great. Quite different to the stereo mix! There is hardly any background noise !! Very remarkable for this 1968 vinyl!!! I played this on my Technics turntable with a Linn cartridge and through my very revealing B&W three way speakers!!! The famed tweeter will reveal any flaws, I am glad to be able to report that there are not any!!
Sleeve: EX. Front AND(!!!) back laminated. Only the very first batch had this!!! Like with Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced" this is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find. At least 95% will have a matt back AND spine!!! Just check your own copy if you have one. This sleeve has become iconic for the late '60s and its time spirit. The colours are still as vibrant as 42 years ago. The spine is completely legible, quite unlike 95% of these reaction sleeves which are extremely flimsy and vulnerable. The edges are straight and the opening is nice and crisp. One front top right crease. One tiny tear to the opening about 1cm. All in all a more than great sleeve.
