This is the exceptionally rare complete 1967 UK 1st press of 'Disraeli Gears' by Cream. This Mono earliest press is complete with the earliest fully laminated, white 'Reaction' text, Ernest J Day 'Patents Pending' sleeve and the earliest A1//B1 matrix. The record is pressed on heavy flat edged vinyl, with the original matt blue Reaction label and the original polylined inner sleeve. In addition this press has the exceptionally rare miscredited 'Windfall Music' at the bottom of the Side 1 label and 'Apple Publishing' at the bottom of the Side 2 label. However what makes this wonderful press so unique is that it is signed by Ginger Baker. Although no authenticity has been provided the original owner's girlfriend at the time, went to a meeting she knew Ginger Baker was attending and took the album for him to sign.
The condition of the record is Very Good++. The vinyl has an exceptional high gloss, with just a couple of marks and a few very light wispy marks on both sides. When played the sound is very rich and bold. There are moments of background noise but these are pretty insignificant, it sounds vibrant and clear. The blue textured Reaction labels are very bright and clean. The silver text is bold and there is only slight spindle wear. The record is complete with the original polylined inner sleeve.
The rare earliest fully laminated Ernest J Day sleeve is in Excellent+ condition. The laminate has the most sensational polished gloss, the colours are vivid and the images are all exceptionally clear. This really is the most fantastic sleeve. There is a little wear on the top corner and a couple of small laminate creases otherwise this sleeve is as good as perfect. It is undoubtedly the finest 1st press Disraeli Gears sleeve we have ever owned. It clearly displays the earliest 'Patents Pending' text at the bottom edge and the whole cover still feels exceptionally solid. The signature is in the top right corner and reads 'Best Wishes Ginger Baker'
