CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL - BORN ON THE BAYOU

A lovely condition copy, with the gleaming and little played vinyl and outstanding stereo audio reproduction being true highlights, of this increasingly rare and sought after 1969 1st press Blues/southern rock gem on the iconic blue/turquoise UK Liberty label, STEREO, LBS 83261

The dead wax matrix numbers are :

Side 1  LBS 83261 A//1 420 with stampers "1 1" and "1" at 9.30 o'clock and 10 o'clock respectively

Side 2   LBS 83261 B//1 420 with stampers "1 1" and "9" at 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock respectively

A truly excellent condition & sparingly played copy of this 1969 blues/rock gem with gleaming, jet black sheen, A1/B1 1st press vinyl : difficult to identify any marks at all...if you look really closely under a bright light you may just be able to identify a couple of extremely light paper scuffs and wispiest of wispy purely superficial small hairlines, otherwise perfect;   pristine Liberty 1st press blue/turquoise labels with not even the usual one or two faint spindle trails;   original poly-lined inner sleeve with no splits or tears - just some creasing and a few small brown age spots; original MacNeill Press fully laminated outer sleeve - firm unscuffed edges, perfectly defined corners, no cardboard creasing, and brilliantly retained colours & art work - there is a single "nick" in the middle of the spine (coinciding with the 3rd letter "e" in "Creedence") which does weaken the spine ever so slightly at that point, a noticeable scuff at the top right corner on the front side (see photo), and some minor vertical laminate lifting on both sides adjacent to the spine;   terrific STEREO audio reproduction - no sticks, jumps, repeats, clicks, interference or background crackle with wonderful tone and clarity throughout. Classic southern rock (with a hint of blues) with every track making for a great listen.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl thick cardboard mailer, along with extra protective flange edges, with at least two thick cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in separating the record from the outer sleeve in order to help prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
